Summer Fun

We're enjoying a warm and sunny summer. This is definitely the best time of year here with the beautiful blue skies and incredible sunsets.

We had a great visit with Ryan's parents over Christmas. We went to a Christmas Eve service at the English speaking church and then invited some friends over to have a Christmas Day dinner. Our new tradition while living south of the equator...a Christmas Day barbque!

Then we headed a few hours south to Ica and Paracas to visit the 'Islas Ballestas.' What some call the Peruvian Galapos or Poor man's Galapagos. It was a fun boat trip and we loved seeing a huge number of birds, sea lions and humboldt penguins.''

We were not ready to say good bye to them when they left on New Years Eve. The next few days were quite sad as the kids and I adjusted to summer time without Papa and Ganni.

We've managed to set a good summer routine hanging out at home, playing games, playing in the water, going for walks, helping with baking, building starwars creations with legos, making robots, painting, playing base ball every night with daddy, riding bikes and reading.

Today we are joining some friends at their parent's beach house just a little bit south of Lima. WE're looking forward to connecting more as a family, relaxing, running on the beach, quiet times on the beach.

Ryan and I were also able to spend some time praying and reflecting on the past year and looking forward to this new year. Some themes for this year: positive, proactive, make it work. We're excited to see what He has planned for us and FH/Peru in 2011

Thanks to some of you for sending your Christmas cards! We LOVED getting them (even got one yesterday)!! It helps us feel more connected with you.
