Elections last Sunday went really smooth, however, the results have left a cloud over the majority of limeños. The three centrist candidates were left out of a second round. The two candidates to advance to the final round are the leftist Hugo Chavez protege, Ollanta Humala, and daughter of former president Alberto Fujimori, Keiko.
Both appealed heavily to the rural and poorer classes, but both present serious concerns the economic and political center.
We will keep praying for the second round in about 8 weeks.
For some thoughtful coverage about these candidates see here and here.
