We are loving our visitors!

We have officially entered 'teams season.' FH Peru receives around 12 North America church and business teams a year and most arrive during the North American summer months. This morning Ryan debriefed with a team heading back to Vancouver, B.C. from University Chapel Church and this is their 4th year visiting (Check out their blog on FH Canada's page here. Prize to whoever can find Ryan).

Here are some of the very encouraging testimonies of the team members as they reflected on their time:

“Everybody I met during this trip is connected with God” (both FH staff and people in community of Rinconada).

“I don’t feel like we visited a poor area. I felt like we were one family meeting another.”

“What if we had community like that in North America?”

“You have come to be amongst us, and you have loved and not judged us.” - Santa, former community leader of Rinconada del Sol

UC is part of the 'C2C' (Comunity to Community) program of FH.

"FH's Community to Community (C2C) Partnership is a relationship between a community in the developing world and an American church. By getting personally involved with the poor, churches are able to work towards lasting change within the context of a strong relationship. FH strives to facilitate true transformation for both the American church and the international partner community."

Another example of a C2C Partnership is Rock Harbor church and FH recently posted a video about their experience. Check it out!

As I'm writing this, Ryan is on his way to the airport. Our good friend from Seattle, Patrick Meagher, arrives tonight and will be with us for just over a week. We're looking forward to connecting with him and showing him our life and ministry here. Patrick arrives just in time to celebrate Ryan's birthday in the morning with our traditional homemade cinnamon rolls!

Around the same time that Patrick arrives, the music group, Leeland will arrive. Leeland has partnered with FH and will visit communities in Lima this week and hold a couple of informal concerts. In 2009 they visited Cambodia and put together this video. (The song on the video is great!)

We'll be sure to post some pictures and give you an update on these visits.

In the meantime check out one of our favorite videos describing FH's relational focus.

We are called to
walk together...

hand in hand,
in spirit,
in person,
in prayer,
in words of enouragment,
through a listening ear,
in love.
