FH Update

2012 has started out strong for FH Peru. The leadership team has been in place for a while now and are continuing to improve the teamwork with their different work teams - in admin/finance, programs, and our regional offices. Our violence prevention project is beginning to make inroads into community churches, public schools, and direct trainings with children and parents begin soon.

FH initiated work in the poorest province of Peru, Huancavelica, in the central Andean highlands at the end of 2011. We have signed agreements with four communities to begin working in our child-focused community transformation model initially focusing on education projects, which will hopefully expand to include work in health and nutrition.

Finally, we are beginning to get more serious about broadening our support base locally and hired a local communications staff to help us to engage Peruvian businesses and churches to partner in FH's work. Great things are happening and we ask you to continue to pray for us, specifically for the following:

--the leadership of FH Peru: Ryan, Noemi, Pamela, Juan and Luis. That God will fill them with wisdom, grace, and positivity.

--great start to our work in Huancavelica - specifically for the relationships with community and family members.

--stamina and rest for FH Peru staff.

-- good health for the UPC team and great relationships with people in the community.
