Pre-Big-Move-Trip

At 8 am Sunday morning Angela and I take Gabe and Toby to Lima for their first experience of their new home. The trip is to begin two hunts: for schools and for housing. We hope to narrow some of those options in preparation of our move in January. During this trip Eliana will stay with Angela’s sister and Ryan’s parents.

As you may imagine, preparations for this trip have been all consuming, so as we write this entry we are feeling a bit of an emotional tsunami. We are EXHAUSTED from the constant packing and preparations; EXCITED to see schools and the neighborhood where we will soon move; SAD to be leaving Ellie and for the reality of relocating internationally and all the implications on our relationships with our family and friends; EAGER to get a start closing in on housing and schooling decisions and to begin Ryan’s new role; NERVOUS of a long trip with kiddos; and GRATEFUL to be able to count on our supporters to help make this trip possible.

Please pray for the following during our trip

• Safety in travel
• Ellie’s stay with family
• Good fortune in locating affordable and appropriate housing
• Good feelings about the right school
• Some sense of emotional stability in this tumultuous time
