Prayers & Praises

Things are going well, both on the Seattle end and the Lima end. We wanted to let you know of some specific ways to pray for us during this time and share some praises as well.

Prayers:

-- That we will all feel and know God's stability in the midst of so many changes.
-- That Ryan and I will have an extra dose of patience and grace with Eliana, Toby and Gabe as they adjust to their new home and life in Lima.
-- Good health (Ryan has already had one stomach bug)
-- From Ryan:
"My first week as director of FH/Peru went really well. I hit the ground running and immediately felt comfortable, felt supported and accepted by his staff, and began to take in a lot of information. There are some formidable challenges facing FH/Peru: departure of three long-term staff, layoffs of about ten staff, very restricted budget that may stay in the red for a while, a new legal registration, a stolen vehicle in November that will not be replaced, and an ugly fraudulent lawsuit filed from a disgruntled employee who was fired for theft last year. Please pray for all of these challenges. Pray specifically that FH/Peru will be able to regroup and form a team strong enough to face these challenges and pray that I will be a good facilitator of this team."

Praises:

-- Set-up for our new home and Ryan's first week of work have gone smoothly
-- The kids and I continue to have many good times with friends and family (including 10 days straight visiting all 9 cousins!!)
-- Help from friends and family (watching kids, packing, and meals)
-- Many of you have joined our financial support team, and we are almost at 100% of our monthly needs

Financial Update:

Thanks to those of you who have given one-time gifts or a monthly commitment of support. We are so humbled by the Lord's provision. It's great to have such a large team of support.

We are still in need of $100 a month to meet our goal. So, yes, we do still need your financial gifts and THANK YOU to those who have already responded.

Hello,

My name is Christian Listro and Kirk Ogden recently told us about you and that you are here in Peru. We just started language school in Arequipa and we will eventually be living in Pucallpa. Maybe our families could get together some time when we are passing through Lima. We will be there at the end of Feb. and the end of the first week in March. Feel free to check out our blog.

Chau,
Christian
