Ministry of Justice visit debrief

Thank you so much for your overwhelming support for Ryan's meeting yesterday. The results were wonderful for FH's relationship with the communities and the Ministry of Justice. The Vice-Minister offered exactly what we were most hoping for - a series of courses required to certify the community counselors we train to be community adjudicators of conflict, backed by Peruvian national law...gratis! This will allow the 56 community promoters from our 16 communities to be legal representatives in their communities regardless of which political party is in power. We hope that our trainings will complement what they will receive from the government, so that they can apply biblical conflict reduction principles into their conciliation work.

Ryan's 'discurso' went fine. He wrote it out and it was heartfelt, but the nerves of the event made it come across fairly abrupt, not as loquacious as a typical Latino formal speech.

Here's some photos of the event held in a community center in one of our Lima communities:

Ryan asked to give a spontaneous prayer to close the formal event
