La Familia in the community

In December the kids and I were able to venture out to one of the communities where FH Peru works. We were able to attend a graduation where the Health Promoters (women trained by FH to reach out to serve their communities to prevent the spread of communicable disease and provide first aid) were transferred to work with the Ministry of Health. It was exciting for me, Angela, to see these women honored, and also the bittersweet feelings many of them had of moving on from working directly with FH. The kids were the most exctied about the kittens.

Ryan recognized the efforts of the health promoters during the past few years as well as the FH staff who trained them.

Hunting for the kittens.

They managed to trap three of them at the same time.

Eliana and Toby cooling off with a water.

We needed to stop twice as we climbed up all these stairs to reach the community center to the left.
